Goal scorer Hector Bellerin’s post-match reaction

“In these situations, you have very little time to think,” the Real Betis defender told DAZN of his goal.

“We had a lot of chances, during the game I had the feeling that we had a lot of control and we were getting opportunities and we didn’t have the luck of them going in – and then look, it happened to me.”

Alvaro Arbeloa’s post-match reaction

“We suffered another blow in the final minutes, as has already happened to us many other times, and we end up with a result I don’t think we deserved, because we had chances [to win],” the Real Madrid interim head coach told reporters.

Arbeloa also complained about refereeing decisions, which “heavily influenced the game”, although Betis arguably had the more legitimate grievances across the match.

Fifth-placed Real Betis hold second-placed Real Madrid to a 1-1 draw, as Bellerin’s stoppage-time strike cancels out Vinicius Jr’s first-half opener.

With that, Real Madrid drop more points and now find themselves a whopping eight points behind Barcelona, who have a game in hand, playing away to Getafe on Saturday.

Real Madrid have only five games remaining to turn this campaign around.
