The UN warns leaders are not doing enough to stop the slow extinction of global wildlife.
The battle to preserve the world’s wildlife and its habitats is being lost – that is according to a new United Nations report, which says attempts to stop the slow destruction of the earth’s wildlife habitats are failing dismally.
World leaders agreed to a series of targets in 2010 to reverse the trend. But the UN now says almost all of the targets are not on track to being met by 2020.
The same bleak picture was recently echoed by the World Wildlife Fund, which says half of the world’s wild animals have been lost over the last 40 years.
So what is needed to get world leaders to notice this wildlife catastrophe?
